• To develop science process skills in the context of the scientific inquiry.
• To build a strong content knowledge in different areas of science, with a focus on Earth and Physical science in sixth grade, and Life science in seventh grade.
• To meet the National Science Education Standards, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for science, and the Archdiocesan Curriculum Guide requirements.

About the teacher:

Olga Jankowski graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from St. Petersburg (Russia) Electrical Engineering University. She holds a Master of Education degree from the University of St. Thomas in Houston and is certified by the State of Texas to teach science. Mrs. Jankowski is a member of the National Science Teacher Association and Texas Computer Education Association.
